Artist-in-Residence Program

The Artist-in-Residence program is an integral part of the B2 Institute activities. Professional artists seeking to explore and nurture the vibrant intersection between Art and Science are invited to apply to our residency program. We are particularly interested in artists willing to develop strong interactions and collaborations with the scientists working at Biosphere 2, and to communicate with the broad spectrum of Biosphere 2 visitors, for example through an open studio or public lectures.

Artists-in-Residence are expected to reside in the Biosphere 2 student village, where subsidized accommodation can be provided. Modest stipends can also be applied for to cover material costs. They are also invited to exhibit their work at the B2 Art Gallery and/or on the Biosphere 2 campus ground.

The Biosphere 2 Artist-in-Residence Program is currently being reorganized. The call for applications will reopen in early fall 2012. Stay tuned for further information.
