Edward P. Bass

Chair and Chief Executive Officer, Fine Line, Inc.

Edward P. Bass, president of Fine Line Inc., a private diversified investment and venture capital firm, is active in business, conservation, and ranching. A committed environmentalist, he is chairman of the Executive Committee of the World Wildlife Fund and founding trustee of the Philecology Trust. He serves on the executive committees of the New York Botanical Garden and the Botanical Research Institute of Texas. He is president of the parent company of Biosphere 2, which he co-founded in 1984. Mr. Bass has been a leader in the redevelopment of downtown Fort Worth in what has been recognized as one of the most successful urban revitalization efforts in America. He is an avid rancher with interests in Texas, the Flint Hills of Kansas, and Australia. Mr. Bass is a member of the Yale Corporation, having been elected to his second term as a Successor Fellow in 2007, and is active in the leadership of committees for the Yale School of Forestry and Environmental Studies and the Yale Institute for Biospheric Studies. He is a graduate of Yale College and studied architecture on the graduate level at the Yale School of Architecture.
